Upcycling DIY: plant cress yourself!

Especially in spring and summer, juicy cress tastes perfect with fresh salads or simply with butter on fresh bread. Because sometimes the simple things are simply the best.

Cress is a lot of fun both outdoors and indoors on the windowsill. So you don't need a large garden to live out your green fingers.

Enjoy your Monte and grow your delicious watercress for home in the empty Monte cup.

craft supplies

  • Monte 6 pack
  • 1 pack of cress seeds
  • cotton

Instructions

Steps

Fill the washed-out Monte cups with moistened cotton wool so that the cups are almost filled to the brim.

Next, distribute the cress seeds evenly among the individual cups and then place them on the windowsill.

From now on it's time to wait. The sprouts will grow day by day. Pour some water over and over again so that the cotton wool stays nice and moist.

After about two weeks, the cress is ready to harvest and can be cut off about 1 cm above the cotton wool with scissors.

Tip

Cress can be used in many ways. You can put them on cream cheese bread, for example, or process them into herb butter.

Bon appetit!
