1996
Monte was born on 1 April 1996 as a whole new kind of dessert. We worked tirelessly for over 2 years to develop the perfect recipe for our two-layer milk cream dessert. All that hard work paid off: The combination of fresh milk, delicious chocolate, and hearty hazelnuts was so tasty that consumers made Monte the most successful new product in its category in Germany.
1997 - 2001
Monte delivers great taste, without borders. Just one year after it was launched in Germany, Monte got ready to conquer the world. Over the next few years, Monte found its place in refrigerators all over Europe. Today, Monte is the favourite dessert of discerning consumers, both young and old, in over 60 countries.
2003
Our mascot ‘Monti’ was created. Since then, Monti has been presenting our new products and announcing exciting campaigns in the refrigerated section.
2005
With Monte Drink, Monte has gone mobile – initially in a compact beverage carton, and since 2008 in practical 200ml and 95ml bottles.
2007
For the first time, Monte is bringing the big screen to the refrigerated section! Find 1 of 10 cool tattoos on every package of Monte, just in time for Shrek 3 to hit the theatres. Since then, Monte has launched popular international campaigns to celebrate major blockbusters.
2008
To make sure you always have a Monte in the fridge, we now offer 55g pots in a larger six-pack. It’s not only Monte fans who are growing up – Monte’s growing too: Introduction of the Monte Maxi 4x 100g for older children and young adults.
2010
Single pots are designed to satisfy the young adult consumer. Too bad, it's not for sharing!
2012
Since 2012, we offer the perfect alternative in Germany for anyone looking for a slightly milder sweet experience. Monte reduced sugar contains 30% less sugar, while delivering the full taste experience of delicious milk, delectable chocolate and hearty hazelnuts.
2013
Since 2013, consumers can enjoy double the indulgence with the Monte double-compartment pot: These combine the original Monte milk cream dessert with delicious, crispy ingredients. Over the next few years, other variations were added to the double-pot product range. Today, Cacao-Cookies, Choco-Balls, Waffle-Sticks and more deliver a crispy, crunchy experience down to the last spoonful.
2014
With the introduction of Monte plus, delicious dessert sauces create a truly unique taste experience.
Now, Monte is also available as a practical snack for home or on-the-go. The Monte Snack combines fresh milk cream with hearty chocolate-hazelnut cream between two light and fluffy slices of cake.
2016
The Monte brand turns 20! A lot has happened since our innovative dessert launched publicly in 1996. Over the last two decades, we have continuously expanded the product range with new, delicious options, and delivered fun and indulgence with lots of exciting campaigns for our fans.
In 2016, you chose Monte White as the Fan Edition winner. You loved our pure milk cream so much, Monte White is still available in the refrigerated section today. In addition, this year we introduced Monte Semolina, a new take on our classic dessert for fans of semolina pudding.
2017
Our littlest Monte Top Cup is taking over the market – classic Monte meets colourful chocolate buttons, for surprisingly crispy, crunchy dessert fun.
2018
At the request of our fans, we added the Mega Monte Fan Edition in a 400g pot to refrigerator shelves, for even more Monte enjoyment. In addition, we replaced our fine chocolate and hearty hazelnut cream with dark chocolate, for the Monte Black & White edition. We began offering something for vanilla fans in 2018 as well, and Monte was available in special vanilla edition for a short time only.
2019
Our Monte -30% Sugar is now available for Monte fans who believe less is more - and who never compromise when it comes to taste. There's something for the littlest milk lovers too: The unique indulgence of 100% one-of-a-kind Monte milk cream is now also available in a practical 6-pack.
2023
Today, we offer a wide variety of delicious Monte products. With such a great selection to choose from, Monte is a dessert for the whole family.
